This Privacy Policy describes how SnapScore ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our mobile application. SnapScore is a live football score, fixtures, and standings app. We built this policy to be short and honest: we collect as little as possible, and we tell you exactly what leaves your device.
1. What we collect
SnapScore does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifying information to use the app's core features.
Stored on your device
- Favorite teams and leagues you save
- Selected theme (light / dark)
- Last active in-app tab
Never sent to our servers.
Sent to our backend
- The fixture, league, or match IDs you're viewing
- Standard request metadata (IP address, timestamp, user-agent) as part of any HTTP request
Used only to serve sports data — never sold.
2. How we use it
- To fetch and display live scores, upcoming fixtures, standings, lineups, statistics, and head-to-head data for the matches you tap on.
- To remember your favorite teams and leagues across sessions.
- To operate our backend cache, which reduces load on upstream sports data providers.
- To serve advertisements through Google AdMob (see Section 4).
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for profiling. We do not build user profiles across other apps or websites.
3. Third-party services
SnapScore relies on the following third parties to function. Their own privacy policies apply to any data they receive.
| Provider | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Serving banner, native, and app-open advertisements. | policies.google.com/privacy |
| API-Football (via our backend) | Source of fixtures, standings, lineups, statistics, and head-to-head data. | api-football.com/privacy-policy |
| Railway (backend hosting) | Hosts our backend API and cache. | railway.app/legal/privacy |
| Expo / EAS | Build, over-the-air updates, and app framework. | expo.dev/privacy |
4. Advertising & AdMob
SnapScore uses Google AdMob to display banner ads, native ads within fixture lists, and app-open ads when the app returns from the background. AdMob may collect and process:
- Your advertising ID (Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA, if permission is granted)
- Device information (model, OS version, language, coarse location derived from IP)
- Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)
We request non-personalized ads by default. On iOS, ad personalization requires your explicit consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, only contextual (non-personalized) ads are shown. You can reset or opt out of your advertising ID at any time from your device's system settings.
To learn more or opt out of personalized ads across the Google ad network, see adssettings.google.com.
5. Local storage on your device
Preferences and favorites are stored using standard secure device storage
(AsyncStorage on Android and iOS).
This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also clear it
at any time from the Settings screen inside the app.
6. Children's privacy
SnapScore is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Data retention
Our backend caches upstream sports data (fixtures, standings) for short periods to reduce load on data providers. This cache contains no personal information. Standard access logs (IP + timestamp + URL) are retained by our hosting provider for up to 30 days for abuse prevention and diagnostics, then discarded.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR in the European Economic Area, or CCPA in California), you may have the right to:
- Request confirmation of what data (if any) we hold that relates to you
- Request deletion of any such data
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent for ad personalization at any time via your device settings
Because SnapScore does not collect direct identifiers, most of these requests can be fulfilled simply by uninstalling the app and resetting your advertising ID. For anything else, contact us (Section 12).
9. Security
All network communication between the app and our backend uses HTTPS. We do not store user credentials because there are no user accounts. However, no online service is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any data in transit.
10. International users
Our backend is hosted on Railway's infrastructure, which may process requests in data centers outside your country of residence. By using SnapScore, you consent to your requests being processed in these locations under the terms of this policy.
11. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how SnapScore handles data, we will update this document and revise the "Effective date" at the top. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
